Heart of England staff are friendly and approachable at all our Care Homes. We work alongside residents, friends and relatives to make our residents stay as comfortable as possible. Here are some of the most frequently asked questions and answers.
Is there a top-up fee?
In order to maintain a high standard of care within our Homes it is necessary to charge a top-up fee for social service funded residents. This is currently £22.00 per week and invoiced monthly in arrears.
Can I have a meal here with my relative/friend?
Sometimes visitors would like to eat with their relatives in the dining room at meal times. It is possible to order a meal for a small charge.
Do we have a choice of rooms?
If there is more than one suitable room free on admission then we are happy for you to see them and make a choice. Rooms can be made more homely by bringing in personal items if required.
What happens with personal allowance money for hair cuts, clothes and other small items?
Each resident has a personal allowance account where money brought in by relatives is kept in the Home's safe. Personal items required by the resident are paid for from this account. If larger items are required then the relatives will be contacted.
Will my mum/dad be kept mentally and actively stimulated?
Each of our Care Homes has a fully qualified and experienced activities co-ordinator who ensures that there is plenty going on for residents to become involved with. These activities can range from baking cakes, sing-a-longs, gentle exercise sessions to day trips out to the theatre, to the country or to some sporting events.
